As a Technical Analysis system, GStock’s main strength is in trades that last up to several weeks, not months because Technical Analysis monitors short-term changes in supply & demand of a stock.

GStock’s trades have a duration (LONG position expectancy) of 40 calendar days on average, with a mode of 20-30 days. Per stock there are an average of 4 trades per year (2 pairs of BUY & SELL signals).

A BUY or SELL signal for a specific date are not carved in stone. GStock alerts are sometimes right on the spot; sometimes they precede and sometimes they come in some delay to a stock’s movement. Therefore, do not regard the signals as carved in stone. You can buy into a signal, a day or two or three after it was initiated, but in our opinion do not drag the investment decision beyond 4 days after the signal was initiated.

Nonetheless, if you bought a stock based on a BUY signal and you are holding it for already 90 days (3 months), it is time to sell and buy a different stock – most chances are that the stock’s behavior (volatility, rate of change, etc.) has changed and therefore the strategy needs to be fine-tuned to the stock again (i.e. don’t wait for the SELL signal because it is not tuned to the recent stock’s behaviour).
