A "virtual supercomputer" is a supercomputer that is not located in a specific place. Instead, it is constructed of thousands of computers located in different places around the world, networked into one big "virtual supercomputer". Just as file-sharing networks Kazaa and Napster joined many home computers to achieve mega "distribution capacity" of songs and videos, a "virtual supercomputer" normally joins many home computers to achieve mega computing capacity.
